Divided We Stand Lyrics

War Of Words Divided We Stand

every effort to free ourselves and make the bastards pay
we paved over a battlefield where thousands passed away
think of how we stood strong and proud with every victory
how we fired up the crowds the angry mobs we’d see

we took our voices to the streets and we marched yeah we marched all night and day
told the powers of our discontent living with our way of life today
but they didn’t have to listen to us cause our voice would fade away
drowned ourselves out with a thousand different views

(watching, waiting, falling, failing)

tried to unite under the cry of anti- this and that
tried to come together with ideals from every different sect
couldn’t agree on what to fight about or just what to reject
they didn’t even have to snuff us out we did their job for them

we sat around and we talked about it
ran around and made a fuss about it
our self importance/selfish egoes couldn’t live without it
never realizing that we allowed it

(fighting, crying, falling, dying)

we didn’t really care about the stakes
only stood to serve our own beliefs
fell victim to humankind’s indelible disease
another selfish tragedy
