Ruben has a cute tattoo of a mermaid on his back
‘Madness lies just under the skin’ – the mermaid told him
that,
‘Cos she started whispering from the moment she was born.
He walks the beach all night long ‘cos she loves to hear
the ocean’s song …..
Ruben loves to paint and draw, copies the labels from his
old 45s,
Or go get juiced in some titty-bar, he likes to do that
too sometimes,
But she just goes crazy if he even looks twice at some
girl.
There’s a speck of light way out at sea,
She says take me there, it’ll be just you and me ….
The moon bobs on the water like a lilo, as Ruben paddles
out to sea.
When they find him next day, floating in the shallows,
His tattoo’s gone and the mermaid is free …
