Crept up on me a haunted past
What sort of hex have these corrosive feelings cast?

Built up in me for far too long I've ignored all the signs
Trying just to be strong
And I couldn't foresee my mind turning against me
Cut right through me
Emerged from the depths I feel my soul has been teething
And now I carry on to find a light in the darkness of mere being
Brought back to life by my inner void
Now I listen to the subconscious noise
Reminisce of the day when dark met light
Balance between these realms helps me keep my head calm when I'm in overwhelm
Said my higher self to me
"This is how things really are you can't just ignore it"
Crept up on me those old ways
Never again to repeat what leads astray
