John Beres Weekday Blues
Off we go into the weekend. It's 5 o'clock I'm headed home.
The interstate looks like a parking lot. There's nothing on the radio.
Had enough of all the deadlines. The boss, his list of things to do.
I think it's time he took a number. ‘Cause I got some things I'd like to do.
Because there letting me loose, right now's the time to celebrate.
I wish that Friday night would stay and never end.
I kick off my shoes, relax, jump in my lazy boy.
Because the weekday blues have left me once again.
One too many early mornings. I feel a lot like sleeping in.
I'll waste the whole day and do nothing. Then start all over once again.
I think I've come up with a master plan. For people just like me and you.
A slight adjustment to the work week. I'll give us 5 and they get 2.
