We started early, we were way to young. We traded
anything worth something to find out where we belong. But
now I’m older sorting out the coldest summer that I’ve
ever spent, and this is how it went. Throwing bottles
from the rooftops, dodging all the local cops, and make
believing that we ran this town. Now I realize we never
talk so take all your very best shots. So just go, I
think I found another way to make it on my own and I
know, you dont know what you were thinking when you threw
us out because now you’re all alone. So just go. Looking
back I should have seen this coming. All the tell-tale
signs were there but I was busy enjoying every second
that we made into something special. I thought you’d
never let go, but you let yourself go. Drinking late
until we passed out, living in the here and now, and
standing out from the in crowd. Now I barely know your
name. Turns out you were the same. I know you’re in too
deep, breathing heavy over sheets you never thought you’d
see. You would trade away your dignity for one more night
with me.
