Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning has a December 11 release date, but fans wanting the deluxe box will have to wait until April 23, 2027. Pre-orders for that set opened on October 28. It adds more of the guest performances from the farewell concert, alongside a book and commemorative objects.

The release revisits the Villa Park concert in Birmingham in July 2025, which brought Osbourne and Sabbath’s original line-up together for their final appearances. For anyone choosing a copy now, the useful question is how much of that day each edition actually contains. A soundtrack, a concert film and an expanded record of the event are different things.
- The CD and Blu-ray edition due in December pairs a soundtrack of the full Ozzy and Black Sabbath performances with the film on 4K Ultra HD and HD Blu-ray.
- Its film runs for 146 minutes. The listed extras add 56 minutes: two guest performances, a behind-the-scenes featurette, video tributes and the Sounds of Birmingham documentary.
- April’s deluxe box adds a third Blu-ray with 35 Ozzy and Sabbath songs, including covers by special guests, arranged in concert running order.
That last disc is the clearest reason to wait for the larger set if the guest appearances are your priority. The December package already lists Jack Black’s “Mr. Crowley” and Fred Durst’s “Changes” among its video extras. Their inclusion does not make its accompanying CD an all-guests soundtrack: that disc is described as the Ozzy and Sabbath set.
The deluxe audio selection goes further, too. It includes a second CD of nine guest covers, alongside the main performance CD. Three half-speed mastered, heavyweight 180g black LPs carry the same tracks. Buyers choosing between its CDs and records are therefore choosing a way to play the music, rather than two different sets of songs.
There is a separate collecting side to the April release. A 72-page hardback book gathers photography, interviews and stories from the day; the box also contains a pendant, a numbered certificate and a poster. These sit beside the extra recordings. Someone mainly interested in seeing the farewell sets has a December option without waiting for those objects.
Ordering the two editions together also needs a little care. The official UK shop says it holds other items bought with a pre-order until that release starts shipping. It does not send them separately. So a fan hoping to watch the film in December and collect the bigger box in April should check how the order will be handled. The shop’s shipping dates describe when items begin leaving, with delivery still to follow.
