River Of Gold Lyrics

Down by the river of gold

We met when we were six years old

We spoke about old mother hubbard

And why she lived in a cupboard

River of gold Now we are getting old

Our childhood is long gone Now it is in a song

We will look back into times gone by

When we played on rope swings and did strange things

We had great fun didn't plan a thing

When we were twenty one I gave you a ring

River of gold Now we are getting old

Our childhood is long gone Now it is in a song

Oh beautiful lady stand by my side

Go to the alter then go outside

Let's go to Paris for our honeymoon

Now were together it can't be to soon

We'll still be together when we grow old

Maybe have children that we can hold

Hope they'll be as happy as we are

When we were young we had the answer

River of gold Now we are getting old

Our childhood is long gone Now it is in a song
