Witness Watercolors
I found a picture perfect pigment on the palette for once
And if I spilled it on the sky, it could challenge the challenge the sun
I'm gathering umbrellas just to salvage it from
The doubt on your tongue and any rain clouds if they come
Because you got watercolors underneath your eyelids
Painted on the oleander canvas of your iris
And it's a shame they get diluted and dim
Every time a little rain comes through with the wind
We've been separated by the longitude
And we'll be woven back together when the needle in the compass moves
I can't promise you the moon
But I could guarantee a garden if you'd let the sunshine soon
So sugar show me the symmetry hidden beneath your breastbone
Break a piece that I can carry with me when you've left home
And if the weather ever finger paints your day black
I'll light another match so you can navigate your way back

Misunderstood
Lost the footing and I fell hard
