you’re dead! I can’t believe!
all my dreams and hopes destroyed
what should I do without you?
tears come into my eyes
i cry
i left you in the lurch my friend
unable to stand by your side
denied knowing you my Lord
despise myself for what I‘ve done
to you
in my dreams
i still hear the rooster’s cry
terrified and full of despair
i lie awake
i promised you
that i will never fall away from you
and that i will never disown you
even if i have to die with you
but the moment they arrested you
we all deserted you
fled cause we were so afraid
that they will question us
we didn’t want to get in trouble
but the night i disowned you my LORD
a loud crow awoke me rudely
from my cowardice – too late
it hurts me deeply
when I think about the time we had together
all the things we shared
you were a brother and a friend to me
but what remains?
a bleeding heart that’s full of pain
a man who‘s lost his hope
no longer worthy to be yours
