Walking through the redwoods of northern California
almost lost my mind.Their beauty, my insignificance,

Walking through independence grove I nearly lost my
lunch.
I read a sign that reminded me of how far we'd fallen
behind,
it 'said, 'The United States of America, the only
nation founded on God.�

Walking down paths of history I almost lost everything.
Looking on the tragedies I can barely breathe, barely
sing.
Tell me why did we kill our brothers,
and tell me why did we cage our sisters and our
mothers?
And tell me why did we send our children to die for a
god on high?

and you're cutting down the people on their knees.

And I wonder how many lives you gave for a quick profit
