Another year…birthday’s here
Same wish…more doubt
Fingers crossed as icing melts
Try again, I blow the candles out
Many are the plans in this heart again

This heart’s a lonely hunter desperate for the clues
Of what it’s lost, and what it has yet to lose…
Seasons change, pages gone
And my eternity marches on
Will I turn my fortune, time will tell
So say goodbye today, with no end to words of farewell
Slumber came, I dreamt in vain
Two or three, no more
Got a plan, its heaven’s and
I check my ego at the door
Too tethered by my youth, to dare admit the truth
Do I press on or do I pout again?
Give me ears to hear the wisdom of Your way
And leave my past still on holiday

Start a new life today, know there’s a better way
People change, names are gone
But there’s a book that mine’s written on
