From the futon on the floor
to your backroom (twice-refused),
do you keep somebody silent?
I saw you as you slipped.
I came up close & counted through all those fasted
hours I nearly miss.
But, when was your runner down and waiting?

(a bitter note while) The shadows bicker
and all of a sudden we're on the wall
where some torch has left us.
But, could it mean less @ all?,
talked up & crying on the wire?;
trying to muster up a spark?
Well, it's been off alone again
in the clouds & in the darkness.
