There is a distant plane hums overhead like a quiet reminder of something
But I will live lightly until the day comes when my chest is a cage from the earth and rain
Savoring words that will sweeten with time with the look of a friend who's always loved you
And biting the hand and eating the limbs of a tyrant disguised as a saint
Realizing that you've invited this pain but it's good there is still blood inside you
But when will we go from these cities, these trees, and the bottles that fill up with wine and beer
I am in love with the people I've met but I cannot be bound to them always
And wishes are grand put these fingers in sand I like doors made of someone's intentions
But birds they sing plainly from dusk until dawn and we're still here just wishing to be them
But if I had wings I would won't for these things that could swim through the waves in the deep blue sea
