Skeleton Key Lyrics

Skeleton Key

Words & Music by P.A. Kelly

Skeleton key, Skeleton key

Lying in a tangle just waiting for me

In Granny's junk drawer with all her jewelry

The tarnished brass of Granny's only

Skeleton key, Skeleton key

Now every door at Granny's house will open for me

Cause I'm in possession of the Skeleton key

I'm in possession of the Skeleton key

Skeleton key, Skeleton key

I feel like a magician oh, so wild and free!

In the pocket of my trousers lies a Skeleton key

Skeleton key, Skeleton key

Now the lady down the hall who lives with Granny and me

Will lock up all her secrets when she hears about me

Just roaming round the building with a Skeleton key

A Skeleton key, Skeleton key

My Granny's old house is a hundred-and-three

And every lock will tumble with a Skeleton key

A Skeleton key, Skeleton key

Like the old attic door that's been forbidden to me

I'll soon set it to creakin' with a Skeleton key

I don't know what's behind it but it's waiting for me

Waiting for me, waiting for me

I've stolen Granny's only magic Skeleton key

I don't know what's behind it but I'm going to see

And all it wants is twisting of a Skeleton key

All it wants is twisting of a Skeleton key
