Lay My Head Lyrics

Took my wheels away from home

And headed for the sun

Left my folks to run the farm

While I was having fun

Well I travel round just picking sounds

In a town by day and night

For a dollar and a bottle of ale

Well times get along alright

And I've got a bed to lay my head tonight

Times can be hard and the money poor

And life is sometimes low

Churning miles to another town

It's the way life seems to go

But I've got my sole in another role

No one to tell me right

For dollar a day bottle of ale

And times get along alright

And I've got a bed to lay my head tonight

My friends told me to travel round

And see the world afar

So I took his advice and now I see

It's so different where you are

We'll I look to the sky and see the night

And see a shooting star

Certain things don't change no matter where you are

Now aimless goals present themselves

Each and every day

So I took a chance and left my roots

For a greener land away

Well I travel round just picking sounds

In a town by day and night

For a dollar a day, and a bottle of ale

And times get along alright

And I've got a be to lay my head tonight.
