was it always this way ?
how could I not see it happen -
how could it catch up so ruthlessly
quick and steady,when I'm not ready ?
how come it's taken so long ?
I have no answers to sell you -
how come the smiles have all turned into frowns,
unfeeling - self revealing ?
bringing this otherness,opening the door
to some other place that I've not known before
blurred 'round the edges,stripped to the core -
the fantasy just can't sustain it no more
was it always this late ?
where did time take a shortcut -
where are the tracks of the hours inbetween
when life was waiting for us ?
stuck in this otherness that's opened the door
to some other place that I've not known before
thrown out of synch like some old acidhead
awoken from dreams to find nightmares instead
the night is all around me,
and dawn has never seemed so far away
