THE NEW DARK AGE
Where were you when the lights went out, we gathered in a chapel of
doom under candle light, no one there had any doubt, that we had won
the war but lost the fight, now a prophet don’t need eyes in the back
of his head, the price of an unappreciated luxury is high, and only the
already dead, don’t realize they must die.
Precision earth and random life, my aching heart my own true wife, the
snake has shed; shed it’s skin, and it will; will again, it’s gonna take all
our scientists and sages, to save us from the new dark ages.
Technology is killing us and saving us at the same time, it’s hard to tell
which it will do first, somehow this reason just don’t seem to rhyme,
you could live beside the ocean and die of thirst, you know second
place aint so bad, depending on how many were in the race, I’m scared
the end of this story is gonna be sad, but that’s the price of first place.

Rumors of the apocalypse wont even turn an ear, everybody’s heard
don’t believe every thing you hear, this world is so brutal and these
bones are so brittle, this is what it means to be stuck in the middle,
and if you can’t live with it you my have to die for it, there comes a
time when you just cant ignore it, of all the prophecy thats ever stained
this earth, there is none more frightening than the death of birth, but
you do what you can just to face what you must, not sure who to
despise not sure who to trust, we have to live our lives as though
tomorrow is for sure, we have to suffer this disease although we know
the cure.
