The sky is a better veil than a light, the stars are just holes in the tarp
of the night, and when I look at the mask of her face I see the same,
just another bright mystery except this one has a name, such a pretty
face makes you wonder how ugly on the inside, just try to find her
you’ll see how well she can hide, but I’m tired of looking I always told
you who I am, but your affections are more like an emotional scam.
You have to dig deep to reach the surface, wring the blood from your
heart bang your head against the stone, but a false prophet cant even
predict the past, but what of the damage done if you accidently hit the
bone.
I’ve circumvented the circumstance and I’m still not sure of a thing, but
if you get slapped to hard by your own rage you might not live to feel
the sting, but maybe the hurt’s the only thing still holding you
together, because the burden carries the weight of the world and your
will’s as light as a feather, but its easy to miss the mirror seldom
shows the defects, all you get is the mirrored image of prospects
suspects and rejects, so you call it something just to say you
understand, and your soul migrates to the safest ideal and your left the
living corpse of a man.

I know it’s what she is that matters as I examine the fossils of what she
was, but her favorite philosophy is just because, but you cant even get
past hello with this kind of reason, that diffident bite of the lower lip is
nothing short of self treason, there’s a world of chaos trying to order
love, and it’s fooled and suspicious of the stars above, the hurt inside
is the father of all earthly desire, but the way we loves like fighting fire
with fire.
You have to scratch the surface before you dig to deep. stop being
motivated by emotion instead of feeling, we think we can get what we
need by sacrificing what we want, and we think were giving when were
really stealing.
