Oh the winter left a bitter time
And showed no mercy there
Confusion fell in waterfalls
And sang out loud and clear
And I knew I’d trod this path before
Though the scenery had changed
Another judgement fell to dust
And another season claimed
And when I looked into her glass
I saw no future there
Processions of a childhood past
But never very clear
And the gypsy’s eyes lit up a smile
And I guessed that things had changed
I’ll be home in just a little while
And I‘ve so much to arrange
And no longer will I fight the cause
That wasted so much time
I’ll ride upon a freedom
That I never thought was mine
And the gypsy glass that told the tale
And opened wide the door
Guided by a mystic hand
That smiled and said no more
