Locked the apartment door last suitcase in the truck
Backin' outta the drive in shotgun buckled up

A temporary break from reality
Roll the windows down feel that warm summer air
Take off your old ball cap run my fingers through your hair
Drive past the office where we spend eight hours everyday
Leave that stress behind baby throw it away

Just cruising down the open road

Sunflower field to the left passed the city limit sign
Combine to the right underneath the clear blue sky
Static on the radio between each small town
Only stop for gas, nothing else to slow us down
