Hatchlings Until The Cows Come Home
How wonderful it was
How many men were fooled
And how easy it all became
To steal ourselves a staircase
What a lovely way
To greet the evening sun
Just wanting time alone
Yet the deed has gone undone
We hop another fence
As close to close as we can get
It gets quiet around this time of year
We clear ourselves a path
Each question cheeky as the last
Oh Lord, I hope this moment lasts a lifetime
But we've got our own lives
Black coffee fills the air
I never thought that we would share
This moment
And so I rush home to tell no one
For in this moment it's just us
