my boat is ready
i built it strong
i hope it will last those
wicked storms
as i must go now
way down this canyon
the river holds
all of my stories
or so I'm told
and i must find them
the pass gets wider
the wind it blows
my rowing is nothing
against the wall
of raging waters
still i am thankful for it all
i start to question my purpose here
will love provide me with a getaway
from this asylum
and will i manage to keep my breath
so when i see her, i have the strength
and words to tell her
and so I'm shouting that i fear none
between my dives i see the sun
I'm very thankful for all my life
and if i call her will she reach out
'till I feel the warmth of a thousand suns
or will it echo between the rocks till it fades out
