Geva Alon Grey Herons
Herons flew above me in the morning light
giant shadows fell down on me
and misty waves sounded in my ears
they still echo in my mind
baby, once in a while
as my eyesight fails
and all the colors range
between tones of gray
i recall that sound
and i wish i was
in that morning light
where the herons fly
the creek and i have aged
the herons are all gone
grey and white, they don't fly here
but as i stare through the rising dawn
they're still vivid in my mind
baby once in a while
i can hardly see
through my memories
it's like a crazy dream
i once had of dying
and i wish i was
