Mom and dad could never reason why
I’d leave the poolside finally and good-bye

The wind-chill factor made it freezing cold
The neighbors nosed around but always short of my arm’s

I took my car down to the beach
I came back from the seashore less and less
Salt water there tastes just as good as fresh
