I’ve made a mess of myself,
Dusty and worn like a book on a shelf,
Can’t seem to understand much things these days,
And I saw my father cry,
He said he’s living in hell and I don’t know why,
He said “Son the world is full of beggars and thieves.”
I’ve been smoking away every dime,
I’ve been talking to myself, what a waste of my time,
But I’m learning from all the mistakes that i’ve ever made,
And I’ve studied the ways of the world,
How we’re built upon cities of boys and the girls
Are just trying to find their path,
But who are we kidding, we’re not gonna last
