Deeexpus One Eight
One cold rainy night in November they sat,
three listened to one
Gazing intently and silent,
as ones riveting story rolled on
Gaining in pace and momentum,
the tale abruptly ceased
As five and six entered
and eagerly took up their seats,
and eagerly took up their seats.
A round of beers later,
two and three joined in
And started reminiscing
as seven downed his gin
It didn't take long, one carried on
and it quickly resumed its pace
Things were getting lively,
when in walked number eight
when in walked number eight.
Silence fell upon the group,
events started to change
And seven leapt up out of his seat,
and hopelessly tried to explain
"I've only just got here",
well that much was true,
but he didn't attempt to convey
that one had been waiting here only for him,
while eight was locked out in the rain,

Things could progress in several ways,
I couldn't decide which one I'd back
But the one that won, couldn't have done,
it was the one that trailed in last
A sound from the door, introduced number four
And ones eyes couldn't comprehend
Two and three shared a whisper and stared
At the fate befalling their friend
Four glared at eight with contempt and hate
As seven again rose to his feet
Five grabbed an arm, number four was alarmed
And six simply started to weep.
Three and two made excuses and flew
For the door that four left ajar
And no one saw one reaching out
Because no one cared anymore
