Coffee House Gypsies Tigerlilly
There was a tiger lily in her hair
The day I saw her standing there
Her lips to mine tore me apart
She lost her breath, I lost my heart
There was a tiger lily in her bouquet
The one she held our wedding day
That sacred kiss, it meant the start
Of life together till death do us part
I placed a tiger lily upon her grave
There are some things love cannot save
I don’t think I cried, I think I smiled
She was buried with her unborn child
Now when I lay me down to sleep
I pray for the lord my soul to keep
I hear her voice, I smell her hair
I see her face everywhere
Through my sleepless nights I’m trying
To keep my sanity from dying
Someone sent me a tiger lily today
From whom there was no card to say
It was sent to prison where I’m serving time
For killing my love, who’s child was not mine
