It's his 42nd birthday, there's a party going on

He's in the middle ages, neither young nor old

He's watching and he's waiting for the future to unfold
But there's a knowing hand that turns the pages

He used to be a dreamer, thought he'd make a mark
Change the world around him, maybe catch his rising star
But time can fly so quickly, and dreams begin to fade
Into the reality of just the everyday
He knows he's done the best he could
He deals with the regrets
Even though he knows, he's far rom finished yet
