Are you coming back east
to the family in the South?
Like a traveller on the search for promised lands

We spent our youth growing up and killing time
every day another back road to explore
now the stars don’t shine quite as bright as they did then
and the world ain’t quite as simple as before

I’ve been a mess since you’ve been gone
I was lost without a compass to my name
