Pharrell Williams Elevates Met Gala Afterparty with Celebrity UNO Tournament

After having co-chaired the 2025 Met Gala alongside A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams now decided that the night was too young. The glamorous evening was then turned into a big celebration by hosting the exclusive UNO tournament at the Crane Club in West Chelsea. This after-party was rather eclectic when it came to its guest list, consisting of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Jaden Smith, Future, Pusha T, and Halle Bailey. It was all about mad playfulness and wooing some wild competition with cocktails, a complete antithesis to the high fashion and formal ambiance of the Met Gala. It was, nevertheless, an even bigger event, led by a somewhat poised tone interspersed with a casual mannerism. Just the way one can never imagine possible.

A Night of Strategy, Style, and Surprises

Still buzzing from the gala, the attendees were ushered down the red carpet toward UNO cards, and the competitive urge quickly stepped into the spotlight. Streamer Kai Cenat hosted the event, and his commentary only heightened the excitement. The winners did not walk away with just bragging rights; they also took home highly costly prizes, ranging from a Richard Mille watch to Tiffany & Co. diamond earrings, all the way to a Louis Vuitton trunk. Above all, Pharrell contributed his creative flair to the event by custom-making a UNO varsity jacket for the tournament, which serves as a fun wink to his fashion history and current role at Louis Vuitton. Win or lose, the camaraderie and laughter reinforced the rarity of the occasion, where fashion, entertainment, and friendly competition were forever forged in an unforgettable experience.

Fashion Meets Culture in a Playful Twist

Above all, the UNO competition served as an apposite extension of the Met Gala's theme that year: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” This theme celebrated the agency Black fashion has in identity construction, focused on the emergence of the Black dandy. In stark contrast to the Palazzo exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this game night provided an opportunity for the guests to show their personality in more playful ways instead of haute couture. Pharrell doubled up as co-chair for the event and creative director for Louis Vuitton's menswear line, furthering his deep-seated involvement in the intersection of style and cultural storytelling. Many attendees, from Zendaya to LISA of BLACKPINK, were dressed in the designs he helped bring to life, making the evening not just a fashion statement but a very personal one.
