Sources on the matter have informed that Britney was not serious, and her post on IG was probably just a spontaneous, incidental lighthearted comment or joke. Regardless, it caused quite a stir, as many fans and media were speculating that it was factual, even after Britney posted about it on her website, which was hacked.

In an Instagram reel uploaded on July 12, Britney danced unapologetically in her pink leotard with a droopy hat, captioning, "Lennon today has on a cute dress !!! It says I'm NEW HERE !!!" Along with smiley-face emojis and a euphoria-like language of sheer delight, the caption made many viewers confused about whether she was announcing a real child to her followers. More so, many reinforced the belief that it was a joke. After all, the wink-face emojis and irrational exuberance led to a satirical rather than honest tone. And while Britney has been known to shock her fanbase out of nowhere with heavily personal posts, this particular post feels more staged than sincere. Still, it represents the hunger for meaning, where her audience takes her word literally.
