My lips were red all october from kissing
They fell like maple leaves onto your chest

And my boots had holes all december from walking
Through your neighbourhood up to your step
And we kicked down a door every day until christmas
'Til we kicked off our boots and slept on your floor
And my glass was full all winter from drinking
I was merry and lucky and bright
And we danced all about the streets of the city
'Til the frost snapped out the last of the lights
And my heart was frozen all april from lying
Saying that I wouldn't thaw with the spring
