I walk along a trail of bones of mice and stones and
broken figures
Of a wedding cake with the dancing couple hiding rusty
blades
To slash their throats like holes in boats
With water singing “hey you’re sinking”
And the horns of thousand churches singing little happy
songs
I walk along a landmine bomb ground with my daughter in
one hand
And with a hatchet in the other for whatever mean may
come
And once again those chimes and bells and navy shells
announcing changes
Will I ever lay in my f..cking head on bed and try to
sleep

As the rain won’t fall and the stars won’t shine and the
moon won’t glow tonight
