No Moleste Lyrics

Tig Notaro No Moleste

I did some shows in Mexico
And like everywhere I go as soon as I checked into my hotel room
I immediately hang the “Do not disturb!” sign on mu door
Or for the Spanish speaking “No moleste!”
That was kind of a creepy feeling
Hanging that on my door before bed
Nope “No moleste!”
Not tonight!
Try a couple of doors down
And actually after I did that joke in Omaha this guy came up to me
And it's like “Just so you know I'm a Spanish interpreter and moleste means to bother
Yeah I know “No moleste!”
So he thought that I thought there were sexual predators
Running up and down the hall of the resort where I was staying
And all the management decided to do instead of springing for some security
Was just to run down to the local Kinkos
And run of some shouthy low rent signs
That just said “No moleste!”
So like you're in your room at night
Someone's banging at the door
Trying to beat the door down
And you're like “No moleste!”
And he's like : “ Oh sorry sight was turned the wrong way
It said “Si moleste!”
Oh ok cool could you just turn that around for me quickly ?
