Left my heart on Chapel Hill
When I put him in the ground
I buried him deep, so as not to stink
When the sheriff comes sniffing around
She buried my heart on Chapel Hill
And rotting so, I smell her still
When the bells turn, and the leaves are all burnt
She'll return to Chapel Hill
I roped up his fingers
Burnt with flesh and rotting splinters
My mother warned me of boys like this!
So I kissed the demons, hope devours

She stands by my grave once a year
