He grew up righteous and he grew up swift,he grew up
quickly in the Brahmin's midst
He trained his body and he honed his mind,
Accepted love and returned in kind.
Laying on the dirt with eyes on the sky,
His mind would drift and wonder why.
He had heard the teachings, understood them all
But when he looked around, he just felt small.
Set out one day with his trusty friend,
A bright young lad named Gavidan.
Shaved his head and sold his clothes,
Slept on rocks and cleansed his soul
He walked through fire, ate barely enough
And helped his friend through the diamond rough.
One would stay and one would go,
Continuing on he had to know

His mind knew already the consequence of sin,
But his body knew nothing of where to begin.
He bought and he sold, he gambled and he rolled
He loved and he lost and ended up cold
He realized what had to be done,
