Sunless Gathering At The Skull's Eye
Their botanic kingdom falls in the blink of an eye
From green prosperity to browning waste
Crops destroyed
Rivers ran dry
Dew forms no longer upon the withered flora
Their cruel marks remain deep and forlorn
A reminder of past suffering
Elders gather with the setting sun
A once golden stretch of sky
Now built of black and grey
Site marked by dead grass and discarded bones
Under the cover of darkness
They recite their plea
