She hated those new glasses, didn’t want to go to school
She hid them in her pocket, kids can be so cruel
And when she got those braces, she just wanted to disappear
The day before the junior prom, she ran home in tears
And tearing up those stairs she wished that she was never born
Until her Mama walked into her room and took her in her arms
And said:

First time she met Jimmy, she was 5 months along
‘Til then she was determined to make it on her own
But Jimmy, he kept coming ‘round til he got the nerve to say:
“I know this baby’s not mine, but I love it anyway
Because I can’t live without you, my heart gives me no choice”
As he got down on one knee, she heard her own voice saying:
