On the horizon of desert sand
Surrounded by devout naked land
We drove out early before the dawn
Waited silent for things to come

Was a prayer for the gun
Before the earth moved there was the sound
Dark billows rose over holy ground
I was tempted to look right in
Where He could withstand I pledged to sin
