As I Lay me down to sleep,
Cozy underneath the sheets.
Glue my pillow to my cheek,
Reality becomes a dream.
And as crazy or amazing as this may seem,
All my dreams are in fact...
Nothin' else, but reality, yeah..
Reality, Oh.
Now you know this ain't no nonsense, see..
It happens quite subconsciously,
When my mind goes travellin',
Past time unravellin'.
Takin' my emotions back to where..
I used to be a few years ago,
Rememberin' a few peers and foes..
And the person I was.
It gets kinda' scary, yes because..
Relivin' some past situations can get kinda' painful,
Those days full of no inspiration.
Lookin' at the future with no motivation,
And then suddenly I awaken..
In a cold sweat, thinkin'..
Damn.
Sleep really is the cousin of death,
Just like my man Nas said,
But I:
Don't let it get to my head like "Brand Nub",
I don't let it get to my head.
Instead get out of bed for some capsules,
Afterwards feelin' brand new,
Put on some "Badu" & go back to..
