Six Feet Deep Regret
Fallen on my face, not the first time,
knowledge cry, things gone wrong.
I played the master, I played the fool.
How far down is down? Nearsighted.
There I lie, bruised and beaten,
used and bleeding. Regret.
To trust is faith, my faith ran sour.
Is this my hour when darkness reigns?
Looking back, hindsight 20/20.
Life so lost, life so dark and empty.
Now complete, faith turned so sweet.
Will of my lord, best for me.
But I can't forget, where I've been.
Things I've done like concrete,
encasing my feet,
pulling me so deep.
The guilt, it won't let me sleep.
But I know sorrow brings death,
if I can't stand before God and confess.
His grace will not relent
salvation leaves no regret.
The emptiness -- no regret.
The loneliness -- no regret.
The stagnant pain -- no regret.
Unending rain -- no regret.
Now complete -- no regret.
Now I'm clean -- no regret.
Now redeemed -- no regret.
All I need -- no regret.
