Sam Tompkins Numb
[Verse 1]
I see a the man in the mirror
I see a blurred out figure
I used to look so different
I guess that time is a killer, huh?
I seen a saint turn sinner
I've seen a man get bitter
Once or twice
[Pre-Chorus]
How could this have happened?
I'm feelin' abandoned
I'm breakin' up
But
[Chorus]
I'm done with thinkin' about it
But my heart won't allow it
I'd rather be numb
I'd rather be numb
To all the pain that has found me
'Cause it's all around me
I'd rather be numb
I'd rather be numb
Numb, numb
[Verse 2]
I feel the walls gettin' thicker
While my strength gettin' thinner, uh
Ooh, I'vе never been a quitter
Whoеver wants to give up now
But now I'm runnin' like a river
I'm runnin' like a river, yeah
Yeah, 'cause
[Chorus]
I'm done with thinkin' about it
But my heart won't allow it
I'd rather be numb
I'd rather be numb
To all the pain that has found me
'Cause it's all around me
I'd rather be numb
I'd rather be numb
Numb, numb
[Bridge]
Won't somebody take this pain
And make it all just go away
I don't care if I'm left with nothin'
'Cause every day repeats the same
It's on my mind all over again, and
[Chorus]
I'm done with thinkin' about it
But my heart won't allow it (Oh)
I'd rather be numb
I'd rather be numb
To all the pain that has found me
'Cause it's all around me
I'd rather be numb (Oh, numb)
I'd rather be numb
(I'd rather be numb, oh-oh)
[Outro]
Ooh, I wish I was numb
I wish I was, I, I
I wish I was numb
