Rodney Parker Highway Blues
I drove this road like it would always ease me,
Thought I could outrun a spring time squall.
A little storm with no words to cut me,

And the wheels turn, the sun burns,
I still yearn for a dark haired girl.
And that bend in the road ahead
Is a flag yet to unfurl.
This road away from the Piney Woods makes it hard to go
back west.
The Johnson Creek life suits me so
