Capture and cage all the fire that engulfs entire forests
Bottle and swallow it down until it fuels every inch of our chests
You'll know the speed with which we live
Yesterday was a half empty glass filled with a curious substance I should
Have left alone on the shelf inside the parts of myself that I avoid
Woke up today with the sunrise through the blinds and an ocean between where I stood
Just a few hours before I ran and I ignored the world
I'll live in the picture on the wall in the moment that never exists
I'll be in the day dream that repeats a scene that I always forget
Walking the streets of the city at night feeling warm in my coat
My legs will never grow tired the roads will never lead me home
I'll always feel safer alone
Last night I dreamt of gasoline
Of leaping off of everything
With the hope that this mountain would move
From the air in my lungs
Today I woke desiring
To leave these metaphors and similes
And I would scream aloud
