Married a sailor today
Soon he is going away
An albino blackbird
Nests by her bedside in sympathy
Waits at the window at night
The light from the lighthouse is bright
It fills her with warm nostalgia
It's all that she has of him

All of the boys in the town woo her with wildberry flowers
Her lily-white charm
Just like the bird who's keeping her calm

Still she waits for him
