Pretend You're Happy Where Do All The Circles Lead?
I dreamt I could fly so I left it all behind
Spread my wings lift off the ground
Up to the big blue sky over the houses
And over the highways
All perfectly placed in a grid
All of the people like ants on a mission
Not knowing the world I can see
Speeding around in their shapes
Always looking ahead rushing past everyone
I thought who am I
Some strange ant up in the clouds
Looking down on stone and steel
And lives of those like me
Moving in straight lines that end up in circles
But where do the circles all lead
All of the people pretending they're happy
Not wanting to fall or to bleed
Or let others see all the pain and the fear underneath
But it's in everyone so I cried for us
Cried my insides out of me
And when it was gone I faced a void and I dove in
I found a glow underneath all the sadness
And that's the place I'd rather be
Why waste me flight in these tormented circles
When I can be happy and free
If I rest my head in the heart of this great mystery
Swallowing everyone
