Podunk Grounded
I tried to reach out and touch the sky
Well I grabbed the rope and I held on tight
Layed on my chest and gave up the sign
And I got pulled up in the warm sunshine
She treated me kind
Her skin was so smooth
She swallowed my fall
A little to soon
I tried to spread my wings and fly
I jumped the ramp and closed my eyes
The pieces shattered and that's when I knew
My throat would fill with the warm bayou
I didn't hear a sound
When I came crashing down
They had to pull me to the ground
