I walk down the road and carry the weight of a ton on my back
It's getting old chasing a dream well into the third act

Lay down my head lay down and rest by the fireside
Counting on grace praying to God for a positive sign
A slap in the face each way I turn I keep losing my stride

The fire is bright as it burns through the night
Keeping me warm and giving me light
My head in my hands, my mind standing clear
All of my longings, my hopes and my fears seems to hide
Seem to hide

by the fireside
It's getting near dawn and I pack up my bag for what lies ahead
Soon I'll be gone cause I never know what's around the bend
I keep moving on hold onto the faith that I have inside
And each night I rest and lay down my head by the fireside
