All the boys on the avenue,
She’s already kissed them good-bye,
And like sparks from the summer night fire- works,
She’s all ready to fly,

She talked about leaving,
But nobody paid her much mind,

Then she took a train that was Baltimore bound,

The lights of her town,

Then they danced together,
The moonlight and the water,
The train, the girl, the coast,
And you could see her through the window,
Spinning and shimmering bright,
Just like the carnival lights.
