Patty Loveless Born-again Fool
He sits on a park bench and stares into space.
Thinking of his bright future that has now been erased.
He once loved a woman whose love wasn't true.
Now all that remains is a born-again fool.
Mistakes, he's made many in his passage of life.
She was the first wrong he couldn't make right.
She left him no reason. She left no excuse.
All she left was the shell of a born-again fool.
Believing that her love would be his salvation
But faith in her heart proved to be his damnation.
Another falsado. Another heart torn in two

Well he gave all she asked for. She took all he had.
She made him her puppet with no strings attatched.
He did all she wanted but he never knew,
She was only creating a born-again fool.
